Production wrap for They Were Millions: over 50 minutes of 2D and 3D animation delivered by our teams!
They Were Millions is a documentary combining live-action footage and animation to explore the largest migration phenomenon in European history, when tens of millions of men and women left the Rhineland to seek new lives across the globe—from North and South America to the far reaches of Russia and Africa.
Over the past several months, our teams have been hard at work creating historical re-enactments in 2D and 3D animation, as well as the documentary’s animated cartography. In total, more than 50 minutes of animation were produced in-house at the studio.
The documentary is scheduled to air in 2025 on ARTE.
